What is Trinity's Services and Food for the Homeless?
Trinity's Services and Food for the Homeless, Inc. (known as SAFH) is a non profit organization begun by Trinity members to meet the growing needs of the homeless population in the Lower East Side. Currently SAFH offers hot healthy lunches five days a week from 11 a.m. - noon. The lunches are served indoors. In 2012 we expect to have served over 55,000 meals. SAFH also offers a food pantry from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Our food pantry offers bags of groceries to needy people throughout the area. In 2013 we expect to provide well over 120,000 meals through our pantry. SAFH also offers a medical van that comes on Wednesdays and a legal clinic that operates here on Fridays. We offer regular food stamp screening, and much, much, more.
